The guidelines were first developed and published in 1993 within the Eastern Health and Social Services Board (EHSSB). The current publication was thoroughly revised and updated in a collaborative initiative between EHSSB and the HPA, following extensive consultation.
The booklet was disseminated widely among dental and nutritional professionals, and is available from the central health promotion resource services.
