In Northern Ireland,
health promotion services are provided in health and social care trusts. These include:
- the provision
of advice and resources
on the priority areas of health promotion including tobacco,
nutrition, drugs, alcohol, physical activity and sexual
health. Some of the resources will have been produced locally,
some will have been bought in and many will have been
produced by the Health Promotion Agency.
- the provision
of library services
where reports, books, videos,
CD-ROMs and resource packs on the priority areas of health
promotion can be borrowed. This library service is primarily
aimed at health professionals but in some trust areas it
also open to members of the public.
For contact details
of the central
health promotion resource services of the four health and
social care trusts see the list
below. Local variations are also included.
