Published:
HPA, October 2008 |
Description:
This report summarises the findings from the MHFA pilot programme, which was carried out in the Cooperation and Working Together (CAWT) region to:
- examine how acceptable and appropriate MHFA is in third level education settings;
- test the feasibility of delivering MHFA across CAWT, and in partnership with the voluntary sector.
The report outlines participants’ experiences and attitudes towards the training programme, including views on the organisation and delivery of the course.
It highlights the impact of the training on participants’ attitudes to mental health, their knowledge of the subject, and their skills in dealing with related issues. It also underlines the perceived benefits of the training.
The findings prompted recommendations for improvement in relation to the full roll-out and sustainability of the MHFA programme throughout Northern Ireland. |
