This leaflet is about the new HPV vaccine that can help protect against cervical cancer. It is for 12�13 girls and addresses questions or concerns they may have about HPV, cervical cancer or the new vaccine that has been introduced as part of the routine childhood immunisation programme. |

This leaflet will be distributed to schools via school health teams. Each girl in the target age group will receive a copy along with a question and answer booklet for parents and a consent form that should be signed and returned to the school health team. A small quantity are also available from the central health promotion resource service in local health and social care trusts.
