Q Does
the Agency offer placements to students?
A
Currently one member
of the Agency’s staff is a student
on a one-year placement. This placement is the first of its
kind to be offered by the Agency and it reflects our policy,
as a relatively small organisation, to consider longer-term
options for placement rather than potential placements for
a shorter period. The current student is studying for a degree
in Communication, Advertising and Marketing at the University
of Ulster at Jordanstown, although students from other disciplines
relevant to the work of the Health Promotion Agency may also
apply to be considered for placements.
Alternatively, you may find it useful to contact your local
Health and Social Services Trust, or a voluntary organisation
dealing with issues related to your subject area, to discuss
opportunities to gain practical work experience in the field
of health promotion.
