Breakfast
seminars
The Health Promotion Agency would like to expand its professional
development programme for colleagues who are involved in
promoting health. Research conducted by us suggests there
is a need for professionals to become more informed about
new developments and best practice on a more flexible basis.
In an effort to meet these professional development needs,
the HPA has been testing a series of Breakfast Seminars since
January 2004. The seminars have evaluated most positively
and participants have requested that we continue to provide
this valuable and effective tool for professional development.
The aim of the seminars is to give professionals an opportunity
to gain some professional knowledge in a short session. It
has become increasingly apparent that there are few opportunities
to learn about local and regional research studies for professionals
linked to health promotion. In light of this, the HPA would
like to invite professionals from a range of backgrounds
to share their research with colleagues, in an effort to
inform practice and create opportunities for wider dissemination.
In order to build up a database of potential research studies
and facilitators, we would like to know if you have been
involved in any recent research study or best practice initiative
that you would like to share at these events. Alternatively,
you might like to recommend a colleague who has been involved
in some research and would like the opportunity to use this
forum to disseminate it.
