Agency launches
new training prospectus
The Health Promotion
Agency for Northern Ireland today launched its new training
prospectus for short courses and professional development
opportunities.
The prospectus,
Education and
skills for promoting health, covers courses
that will be running from September to December 2000 and will
feature a variety of skills based and accredited programmes.
The aim of the
short course programme is to strengthen health promotion practice
by focusing on current issues and by drawing on wide expertise
to address these issues, while the professional development
opportunities feature a number of accredited modules and courses
offered in partnership with academic institutions.
Mire Campbell,
Regional Health Promotion Manager for Training and Professional
Development, with the Health Promotion Agency said:
"These courses
are open to a wide range of people working to promote health.
The prospectus will be distributed to over 3,000 professionals
involved in health promotion within the community, voluntary
and statutory sectors so booking early is advised as the courses
are popular and can sometimes be over subscribed."
A second brochure
will be available later in the year detailing courses from
January to June 2001.
