Agency launches
training prospectus
Today the Health Promotion Agency
for Northern Ireland launched its new training prospectus
that will take health promotion education into the next millennium.
The prospectus details a wide
variety of courses including sex education and policy in primary
and post-primary education, drugs and family, stress management,
smoking cessation and young people as well as certificates
and diplomas in health promotion.
Breda Teahan, Training and Professional
Development Programme Manager for the Agency, said: "This
is a very exciting time for those working in health promotion
as we now have movement towards progress through qualifications
and structured learning".
There will be a combination of
both short courses and longer term programmes on offer for
the coming year. The prospectus will be distributed to all
professionals involved in health promotion within the voluntary
and statutory sectors. The Agency has once more subsidised
the course fees to promote wider opportunity and accessibility
to the training.
