| Aim: |
To recommend to
NIPAIG priority areas for action linked
to the following areas: |

1. To encourage
and support schools to enhance opportunities in physical activity
for all pupils. |
| |
2. To widen opportunities
for physical activity through the development of a safe environment. |
| |
3. To engage parents
in the importance of physical activity through raising awareness
and educating them of the importance of physical activity. |
| |
4. To equip children
with the knowledge of how to become involved in alternative
activities of their choosing. |
| Work: |
The
HPA facilitates this group which is chaired by Mervyn Hill,
Creative Studies Advisor with the WELB. The group meets four
times a year and has recently contributed to the New Opportunities
Fund (NOF) consultation on the new PE & Sports in Schools programme. |
