Sexual health

In Northern Ireland there is growing concern about the sexual health of young people. As risk-related sexual behaviour begins in adolescence (Hein, 1989), those who engage earlier are thought to be at greater risk of unprotected sex, unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The HPA is committed to promoting good sexual health by ensuring that professionals and the public have access to information relating to this area.
