An expanding web of information on drugs and alcohol
Today the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland launched a new website www.DrugsAlcohol.info to help
professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, teachers and volunteers involved with health and
social issues, keep up with the latest news, facts and statistics relating to drugs and alcohol.
The site also highlights forthcoming events including short courses, seminars and conferences in relation to drugs
and alcohol. Rob Phipps, Senior Manager at the Health Promotion Agency with responsibility for drugs and alcohol explained:
"Funding from the Northern Ireland Drugs and Alcohol Campaign has enabled us to create this new website covering
both drugs and alcohol. We all need to work together to tackle this issue in Northern Ireland and the new site will
be a useful information source for the professionals involved."
The new website, www.DrugsAlcohol.info, expands an existing Health Promotion Agency website on drugs prevention to
include information on alcohol misuse. The original drugs website has recorded nearly 48,000 hits since it was #
launched just over a year ago.
