Mission: To make health a top priority for everyone in Northern Ireland.

As a special agency of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, the HPA is responsible for the development and implementation of a range of public information campaigns on health and health promotion issues. Funding for the majority of these campaigns is additional to the Agency's core funding.

To date the HPA has conducted campaign work in the following areas:

• alcohol;
• drugs and solvents;
• immunisation;
• nutrition;
• physical activity;
• sexual health;
• tobacco.
