-Team of Baby Friendly Professional Officers.
Aim:

-To collaboratively support improvement of health care practices in relation to breastfeeding.
-To encourage hospital and community facilities to adopt The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and the Seven Point Plan.
-To provide encouragement and support for facilities in Northern Ireland seeking Baby Friendly Accreditation.
-To monitor progress of HSS Trusts in Northern Ireland who are working towards achieving Baby Friendly Status.
-To network with Baby Friendly facilities throughout the UK.
-To support improved breastfeeding education standards for student midwives and Health Visitors.
-To support best practice standards in Breastfeeding training for health professionals.
-To provide expertise by contributing to a working group which is developing Baby Friendly Standards for Paediatric units.

Work: Ongoing support and discussions with representatives from Baby Friendly facilities in Northern Ireland. Accreditation of Healthcare facilities in Northern Ireland.
