Description:
This document reports on research carried out to assess the
attitudes of the general public in Northern Ireland towards
smoking prohibitions or restrictions. The survey explored public
awareness of the health risks of environmental tobacco smoke
and to what extent the public are bothered by tobacco smoke
in public places. It also aimed to assess public opinion on
the smoking status of public places, in particular cafes, restaurants,
pubs and bars, shopping centres, offices, taxis, bus and railways
stations and hospitals, and the level of support for legislation
on smoke-free workplaces. |
