The guidelines and evidence base referred to in this booklet
are contained in Smoking Cessation Guidelines for Health
Professionals and Guidance for Commissioners on the Cost
Effectiveness of Smoking Interventions. These were published
together as a supplement to the December 1998 issue of Thorax
(Vol. 53. Supplement 5 Part 1), and in summary form in the BMJ
on 16 January 1999.
