Progress in this area is monitored by the Northern Ireland
Breastfeeding Strategy Group whose aims are:
- to ensure
parents have a fully informed choice on infant feeding
- to support
the promotion of breastfeeding
- to facilitate
an increase in breastfeeding rates.

From autumn 2002 the HPA has published
a newsletter on breastfeeding entitled Keeping
abreast. This
is intended to help keep all those involved in working with
mothers and babies up to date with progress towards achieving
the aims of the Breastfeeding strategy for Northern Ireland. |
