Description:
From September 2006, a new vaccination is being introduced into the routine childhood immunisation programme at two, four and 15 months of age to protect children from pneumococcal infection. This factsheet explains this change to the programme and why it was made. It also provides background information on the vaccine and describes the diseases against which it protects.
