Description: This key issue paper focuses on young men's mental health in Northern Ireland, highlighting important connections between masculinity and mental health. It provides pointers for practitioners engaging and supporting young men around the themes of mental and emotional health and self-esteem.
It is one of three papers relating to a series of seminars concerning young people's mental and emotional health, organised and presented by the Design for Living partnership in 2007. The partnership comprises Action Mental Health, the Youth Council for Northern Ireland and the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland. Through its annual programme of seminars the partnership aims to promote and protect young people's mental and emotional health and build capacity among practitioners from the many disciplines who work with young people in Northern Ireland.
