Description:
This leaflet was developed by the HPA on behalf of the DHSSPS
to support a public information campaign as part of the
Antimicrobial Resistance Action Plan (AMRAP). One of the
six priority action areas addressed in AMRAP is the promotion
of hand washing as an important way to stop the spread
of infection, and this leaflet aims to reinforce that message.
It points out that germs can be anywhere and no one is
safe from hand-transmitted infection. It outlines the case
for hand washing, highlights when hands should be washed,
explains how hands should be washed, and emphasises that
regular washing of hands helps prevent infection. |
