Description:
This leaflet is used to support the Northern Ireland breast screening programme. It is mainly issued by local screening centres with a letter after a woman’s breast x-ray (mammogram) has detected no signs of breast cancer. It describes how women should be aware of what is normal for them and how they should check their breasts regularly for any changes that are new to them. The leaflet also emphasises the importance of accepting a screening invitation every three years if aged 50 to 70, and encourages women aged over 70 to make their own appointment through their local screening centre. It includes details about the Northern Ireland cancer screening website.
