Published:
HPA, September, 2002 on behalf of the Department of Health,
Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS). |
Description:
This leaflet explains about blood tests that are carried out
during the first antenatal visit. The blood tests look for possible

or baby. From October 2002 the tests will screen a sample of
the mother's blood for the presence of HIV, hepatitis B, syphilis
and rubella and to determine her blood count/haemoglobin level
and her blood group. This leaflet also contains a consent form,
which should be completed by the patient during this visit. |
