Description:
The Annual
report communicates the breadth
of work engaged in during 2002-03 and shows how each element
has contributed to meeting our objectives for the year. It
records our major accomplishments in the areas of drugs and
alcohol, tobacco, nutrition, physical activity, sexual health,
mental and emotional health, breastfeeding, health protection,
research and evaluation, training and professional development,
communications, and corporate business. The range of local
partnerships, cross border links and global alliances that
has helped the HPA achieve its programme of work is highlighted.
The research carried out during the year is detailed and
demonstrates how this has guided much of our work.Training
and development opportunities offered by the HPA to support
those working to promote health are highlighted as are many
of the initiatives, campaigns and resources which have helped
communicate relevant and timely information on a range of
health issues. Also noted is the HPA's success in retaining
the Investors in People accreditation, increased recruitment
arising from expansion of major business areas, and continued
commitment to our Equality Scheme. A guide to Board and staff
members is also presented, along with a summary of financial
accounts for the year.
