This newsletter is intended to help keep all those involved in working with mothers and babies up to date with progress towards achieving the aims of the Breastfeeding strategy for Northern Ireland. This issue includes articles on the continuing progress of the Baby Friendly Initiative, the Breastfeeding welcome here scheme, activities undertaken for National Breastfeeding Awareness Week 2006, the new Healthy Start scheme, UK law on breastmilk substitutes and research relating to breastfeeding. Keeping abreast is published twice yearly. |
